MPE a division of Englobe (MPE) is a multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm serving clients across Western Canada. Established in 1983 in Lethbridge, Alberta, MPE has grown from a foundation in water resources to deliver a broad range of engineering, environmental, and infrastructure services for public and private sector projects.
With 13 offices across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and British Columbia, and a team of more than 340 professionals, MPE provides responsive, locally informed solutions for complex, multidisciplinary assignments.

The Mine Hoist Division provides specialized expertise in hoist system design, safety, performance, and reliability, including:
- Hoist controls, HMIs, drives (DC, AC, VFD), and brake control systems
- Safety devices, functional safety systems, and risk & hazard analysis
- Complete hoist system design, integration, and energy management
- Power distribution design, including high‑voltage and group distribution systems
- Hoist plant inspections, annual testing, and certification support
- Hoist duty reviews for existing and future operations
- Design and evaluation of hoists, conveyances, sheaves, shafts, and related equipment
- Shaft reviews, guide testing, and FEA of hoist components
- Feasibility studies and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) mine design
